POWR2 Joins 2024 United Way Day of Action
This year, POWR2 participated in the United Way Day of Action 2024, pitching in to enhance the garden at the Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut Children’s Center in Bethel, CT. Our team of volunteers rolled up their sleeves to repair outdoor steps, refill garden beds with fresh soil and wood chips, and weed and mulch around the raised garden beds at the Children’s Center.
Organized by the United Way of Coastal and Western Connecticut (UWCWC), the event provided an opportunity for individuals and businesses to give back to the community while fostering teamwork and a sense of purpose.
Every year, the United Way Day of Action brings together individuals and organizations worldwide to make a positive impact in their local communities. Originally launched under the name “Day of Caring,” this initiative has grown into a global movement, engaging thousands of volunteers annually around June 21st. This event is more than a single day of volunteering; it’s a demonstration of how collective efforts can bring meaningful change.
The United Way Day of Action is a testament to the profound impact a single day of volunteering can have on a community. For POWR2, the experience was both humbling and inspiring. It was an opportunity to work together as a team, connect with the local community, and contribute to a cause that aligns with our values.
POWR2’s participation in the United Way Day of Action underscores our commitment to making a difference both locally and globally. We look forward to continuing to work with organizations like the United Way to contribute to the well-being of our community.
