- Off-grid airport project: A leading contractor used the POWRBANK paired with two solar skids for a long-term construction project at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. They integrated two solar chargers into the POWRBANK, allowing Whiting-Turner to connect a custom-designed solar skid system to power their temporary office trailer with renewable energy. Typically, off-grid jobsite trailers rely on diesel generators, which are turned off when workers leave, leading to potential issues like frozen pipes, cold mornings in the trailer, and no security lighting at night. By combining Whiting-Turner’s solar skids with the POWRBANK, the trailer’s lighting, security systems, and HVAC remained operational around the clock.
